Taiwan Cement Corp. ranked sixth largest cement producer in China

With capacity of more than 55 million t, Taiwan Cement Corp. is the sixth largest cement manufacturer in China, according to statistics released by a Chinese website. That makes it Taiwan’s biggest cement company, with fellow Taiwanese companies Asia Cement Corp. ranking twelfth with 23.72 million t capacity, and The Goldsun Group ranking 62^nd with 3.1 million t, according to the website.

The leading Chinese companies in terms of cement production capacity are significantly ahead, with China National Building Material Group taking first place with a phenomenal 298 million t, while Anhui Conch Cement Co. comes in second with 156 million t. Sinoma Cement Co. reached third place with 83.30 million t.

Of these companies, most are reported to have increased capacity in 2013 by upwards of 2%, with Sinoma growing capacity by 14.49% y/y. China is currently working on restructuring its cement industry to shut down outdated and inefficient plants as a measure to reduce pollution. Growth has slowed, but is still impressive compared to many other parts of the world.
