New Cheung Kong cement plant in Yunfu is fully operational

According to reports, the Cheung Kong cement plant in Guangdong, China, is now fully operational. The HK$1.3 billion plant has a clinker capacity between 4500 and 5000 tpd and is located in Yunfu city. Construction of the plant began in March 2010 and took two years to complete.

The plant is owned by Cheung Kong Infrastructure, a Hong Kong-based company with interests in a variety of businesses including property and power. The company owns another cement plant in Yunfu with a clinker capacity of 2500 tpd. Plans for a further HK$600 million investment in the new plant are in place. The company has approval to construct a pier capable of handling three barges at a time.
