Previously the company operated through a rep organisation, with good success, gaining traction with customers and accomplishing several successful. Sales in India are growing rapidly as the company gains acceptance of its X1 product line, with enhanced software capability and more cost effective design.

Sabia realised the need for dedicated support for customers in India in order to continue the growth trend. The decision was made to set up a wholly owned subsidiary to provide better support.

“Navigating the local landscape in terms of culture, regulation, and communication was a challenge,” notes Tom Dannemiller, Vice President of Sales and Operations, “but with the help of good local partners, we were able to get things moving quickly”. Obtaining necessary regulatory approvals, including nuclear approval from the AERB, was an education for the company, but the process is now complete and the company is fully functional.

Sabia India has been fortunate to be able to hire experienced, top tier talent into its organisation, with a strong sales and service force in place on the ground. It has plans for increasing the headcount in the coming year. Now fully established, Sabia India looks toward expanding operations to include other countries in the region.

“The Indian market is critical to our overall strategy, and we saw this as the best way to support our growing customer base,” said Tom Dannemiller, Vice President of Sales and Operations.

Deepak Doomra, Head of Indian Operations, has recently joined the company, bringing many years of experience in servicing customers in the Indian market and a deep knowledge of how to successfully grow the business. His leadership and reputation in the Indian market has been critical to the quick takeoff of this venture.
