Christian Pfeiffer order for CMS to include silos and packing facility

World Cement,

Following reports in the local press at the end of June, Christian Pfeiffer has confirmed that it has received an order to erect a turnkey cement grinding plant including silos and a packing facility for Caha Mata Sarawak, CMS, in Kuching, Malaysia. The related contract was signed on 23 June 2014. The €36 million order comprises engineering, fabrication and supply of the entire equipment, including electrical and control equipment, installation and commissioning of the grinding plant. It also involves the complete construction work and layout of roads.

The grinding plant is designed for a capacity of 150 tph (1 million tpa) for OPC with 3500 cm2/g (by Blaine). The delivery includes a 2-chamber ball mill with slide shoe bearing (4.8 m dia. x 15 m) in the latest technical design, equipped with a wear resistant shell liner made of progressive lifters for the first grinding chamber, the latest intermediate diaphragm of the 4th generation with optimised centre, a classifying lining in the second chamber, and the highly efficient separator QDK 248Z with filter system. Two 10 000 t silos with a total of four bulk loads for trucks, two big bag loading stations, as well as a packing and palletising installation for truck loading with a capacity of 3000 bags/hour, complete the delivery. One of the two silos is equipped with a one-chamber system, the other one with a two-chamber system. The specific energy demand of the entire grinding plant per ton of OPC is less than 40 kW/t.

The construction work began this month, with completion and commissioning scheduled for late summer next year.
