VDMA road show goes to South America

World Cement,

The “Cement+Minerals” road show will hit South America next month for the first time. The association of construction equipment and building material machinery, which is part of VDMA, will stop in Peru, Chile and Brazil from 2 – 10 May 2013.

Representatives from Haver & Boecker, Thyssen Krupp, Loesche, Christian Pfeiffer, Claudius Peters, Toni Technik and FLSmidth Pfister are taking part in the road show, and will invite South American cement manufacturers and mine operators to come and familiarise themselves with the German equipment on offer. The fields of secondary breaking, thermal treatment, feeding and screening technology, logistics in the cement industry and laboratory techniques will be represented, and the companies also hope to discuss the local requirements and challenges unique to this market.

The programme includes symposia on technology and will provide a platform for bilateral exchange with the companies and associations, as well as the relevant German Chambers of Commerce and diplomatic missions. Notable representatives include Mr Lothar Jungemann of Thyssen Krupp, Dr Reinhold Festge of Haver & Boecker (also the chairman of the Latin American Initiative by the German Economy) and Prof. Dr Holger Lieberwirth of Technical University of Freiberg.

The road show, which is organised in cooperation with the relevant local German Chambers of Commerce, aims to optimise the business contacts already in place in the individual countries while winning new clients. The exact dates are: 2 – 3 May: Lima/Peru; 7 May: Santiago de Chile/Chile; 9 May: São Paulo/Brazil (cement and all other building material industry only); 10 May: Belo Horizonte/Brazil (mineral engineering only).
