A press release from the company announced that "At Taiheiyo Cement and Taiheiyo Cement Group, we believe that proactive measures to conserve biodiversity are a key management challenge. For this reason, in line with our Environmental Management Policy, we promote nature conservation initiatives—such as the conservation of rare animal and plant species, and the greening of both operational and spent mining sites—at our limestone mines that have impacts on biodiversity."

The company's statement continued, "With regard to the 30by30 Alliance for Biodiversity, going forward we intend to carry out greening and conservation activities at company-owned mining sites, so that they become eligible for registration on the Global Database on Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures.

With regard to the Keidanren Committee on Nature Conservation, we intend to share information with other signatory companies and organisations and, through the dissemination of this information, work with them to promote biodiversity conservation.

Through concrete biodiversity conservation activities, we seek to contribute to the realisation of nature-positive outcomes championed by the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), and to execute our Group Mission: “Our mission is to contribute to social infrastructure development by providing solutions that are environmentally efficient, enhance our competitive position and bring value to our stakeholders.”
