CMS Clinker Sdn Bhd is building a new cement grinding plant and awarded the EPC contract to Christian Pfeiffer, as reported previously.

Claudius Peters has today announced that it has been selected as a sub-supplier for the project and will provide storage silo handling, packing and palletising technology.

The scope of Claudius Peters’ supply is detailed below.

Equipment for two EC (Expansion Chamber) type storage silos, each with a diameter of 18 m and a storage capacity of 10 000 t. One silo will be designed as a duocell silo, having the potential to store various types of cement. Each silo cell is connected via an aeroslide system and a bucket elevator with the packing and palletising plant. Four bulk loading lines will be installed below the silos, each equipped with a stationary loading device.

The packing and palletising line will have a maximum bagging capacity of up to 3000 bags/hour (50 kg and 40 kg bags) and consists mainly of the bucket elevator, vibration screen, pre-bin and dedusting filter in addition to a 10-spout rotary packer type R10ZL with automatic bag applicator and cassette magazine.

Discharge equipment, bag cleaning, check weighing and bag rejection with bag cutter and rotary screen are also included in the scope of supply, as is the complete spillage return for the entire packing plant.

The bags are distributed on two truck loading stations by means of a belt transport or on a 3000 bag/hour automatic palletising plant by means of manual rear loaders. Hood stretching with a maximum capacity of 75 pallets/hour is planned to ensure the load is secure and protected from moisture.

A double big-bag filling station with a pre-bin installed ahead and a separate dedusting filter will enable the plant to achieve the required capacity of 30 bags/h (1 t per big bag).

The necessary mechanic and electrical detail engineering, the hardware of the PLC and MCC, as well as erection supervision and commissioning are also part of the scope of supply. Commissioning is scheduled for 2015.
