World Cement,
Elkon has recently installed its first concrete batching plant in Mauritius.
The plant was commissioned for a major construction company in the country. An ELKOMIX-60 Quick Master Compact Concrete Batching Plant was chosen; it has a capacity of 55 m3/hr and is equipped with a skip hoist elevation system to enable the existing job site to be used in an efficient way. The plant is also equipped with an aggregate pre-feeding system to avoid the need to build a concrete ramp.
The plant will be used to supply ready-mixed concrete for the construction of access roads to the only international airport in the country. The project is part of the programme to strengthen the international role of the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, which is located near the capital of Port Louis.
