Semen Indonesia
Semen Indonesia’s Director of Production, Ir. Suparni, has been appointed the company’s new CEO, replacing Dwi Soetjipto, who has gone to oil and gas giant PT Pertamina. Suparni told reporters that he would continue to expand the business overseas, indicating that the company was still looking at opportunities in Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. Suparni joined Semen Indonesia in 1986. His term as CEO will last until 2017.
In addition, shareholders agreed to add Rizkan Chandra to its board of directors and retain five others.
Dangote Cement
Dangote Cement has hired ex-Holcim exec Onne van der Weijde as CEO, taking over from Devakumar Edwin. Van der Weijde will take over the role from 1 February, at a time when a number of large capex projects are beginning to materialise, Edwin told Bloomberg News.
Van der Weijde left Holcim on 1 June 2014. He had served as Area Manager for India and a member of the Holcim Senior Management.
