Bloomberg is reporting that PPC’s CEO Ketso Gordhan has resigned from his post over differences with the board. Gordhan was appointed CEO last year and has led the company in its efforts to expand across Africa. In a statement, PPC has said that Gordhan will continue to provide input on projects that he was leading.
CNBCAfrica reports that Gordhan said in a statement he was leaving the company ‘with a heavy heart’ having enjoyed his time at PPC.
Bheki Sibiya, who will step in as executive chairman until a new CEO is found, is quoted as saying that Gordhan ‘should be commended for his excellent work on closing the remuneration gap within the organisation as well as implementing an innovative employee housing support initiative’, adding that the outgoing CEO has been ‘instrumental’ in PPC’s pan-African strategy.
