Gebr Pfeiffer wins order for Algerian cement plant

In May 2014 Gebr. Pfeiffer SE was awarded a contract to supply a cement mill and a raw mill to a cement plant near the Algerian town of Biskra.
The plant belongs to Lafarge, and this order is in line with its strategy of moving towards the one-mill solution, utilising Gebr Pfeiffer MVR mills with MultiDrive. The company benefits from the high level of availability when it comes to cement grinding, thus giving preference to this concept over the conventional two-mill solution with less availability.
The MVR 6700 C-6 cement mill, featuring the innovative and proven MultiDrive® concept with an installed total drive power of 9125 kW, will produce 231 – 342 tph of OPC ground to a product fineness of 3700 – 4800 cm²/g according to Blaine.
The MVR 6000 R-6 raw mill, which will come equipped with a conventional drive, having an installed power of 6120 kW, is designed to grind 680 tph of cement raw material to a finished product fineness of =12% R 90 µm and 460 tph of limestone to a product fineness of =1% R 150 µm.
The order was placed via the general contractor CBMI and delivery is scheduled for next summer.
