ASEC Minya introduces a new sulfate-resisting cement

Egyptian cement manufacturer ASEC Minya Cement has launched ASEC Al Mokawm, a sulfate-resisting Portland cement product. The new product is considered to be a breakthrough in the construction field, given its ability to protect concrete from the effect of sulfate salts, which are usually found in surrounding environments such as agricultural soil. Use of the cement also results in a reduction of water permeability in the finished concrete product, and thereby a decrease in cracks. ASEC Al Mokawm is produced in line with Egyptian and international manufacturing standards.
The cement was designed for use in all types of concrete constructions that are directly exposed to the negative impact of sulfate salts. These include sewage treatment projects, agricultural land with poor drainage, industrial drainage projects, irrigation construction (dams and barrages), foundation works of bridges and different types of piles, tunnels, plane concrete foundation works in coastal areas and costal protection concrete blocks and the production of precast concrete elements such as tunnel segments and sewage pipes. The product is available in 50 kg polypropylene bags and could be supplied loose to concrete stations and readymade concrete facilities.
