Iran exported over 8.1 million t of cement during first seven months

The latest data from Iran’s Ministry of Industries, Mines and Trade revealed that the country’s cement manufacturers exported over 8.1 million t of cement and approximately 3.6 million t of clinker during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (21 March – 22 October 2014).
During the last Iranian year (ended 20 March 2013), the country’s total cement production was estimated at 69.4 million t, a 0.9% decrease compared to 70.1 million t recorded in the previous year. Iran exported cement to 24 countries, including Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey, the UAE, Georgia, Oman, India and China, during this period.
Iran has the capacity to produce some 80 million tpa of cement and clinker. The country was the fourth largest manufacturer of these products in 2013, behind China, India and the USA. According to reports, its share of world cement production in 2013 was 1.87%.
