First Lafarge Emirates Cement distribution centre

Lafarge Emirates Cement has opened its first distribution centre in the region, in cooperation with Al Saeed AL Zaabi General Trading. Chief Executive Officer of Lafarge Emirates Cement, Antoine Duclaux, officially opened the new centre in Mussaffah Industrial Area in Abu Dhabi in the presence of many strategic partners.

"The new showroom of 250/350 m² … is a big achievement, as per Lafarge’s strategic plan to open its first distribution centre in the region, we are contributing in the construction's growth market in the UAE by offering quality products," noted Mr. Duclaux

Mr. Adham El-Sharkawy, the Commercial Director added, "In the past few years, the region has witnessed a milestone in the cement industry, and has also become the fundamental pillars for economic growth, by providing new sources and job opportunities for many employers. It reflects the increasing volume of cement production in the Arab region".

The new showroom displays a wide range of products including, ‘Classic’, the ordinary Portland cement; ‘Flexi’, Portland limestone cement, an environmentally friendly product that is produced by inter-grinding cement clinker with strictly controlled amounts of high purity limestone and gypsum; and ‘Shield’, the new sulfate-resistant Portland cement.

The customer will have the luxury to touch and feel the different samples of products and explore the various applications to assist in making the right decisions.

Lafarge has produced over 30 million m³ of ready-mix concrete in the past decade, which has been used in the creation of some of the most distinguished landmarks in the UAE.
