Fives FCB wins clinker line contract in Algeria
Fives FCB, part of France’s Fives Group, has been awarded a contract relating to the extension of Chlef cement plant’s third production line. The Chlef cement plant in Algeria is operated by Entreprise des Ciments et Dérivés d’el Chellif (ECDE), a member of the industrial group Ciments d’Algérie (GICA). The contract comprises the execution of a new 6000 tpd clinker production extension line, which will be carried out on a turnkey basis. The line is due to begin operating at the end of 2016.
The project forms part of GICA’s plans to expand its cement production capacity in Algeria. The clinker line extension will almost double ECDE’s capacity.
