Grey cement volumes continue on growth path in Colombia
Figures released by DANE indicate that grey cement dispatches on Colombia’s national market improved by 6.1% y/y in February 2015 to reach 985 300 t. Production volumes grew at an even higher rate, rising by 13.3% y/y to 1.03 million t. The areas that saw the biggest increases in dispatches were Antioquia (17%), Bolívar (37%), Bogotá (7.7%) and Nariño (52.1%).
In January – February 2015, grey cement dispatches have totalled 1.91 million t and production has reached approximately 1.93 million t. This represents growth of 10% y/y and 11% y/y, respectively.
In the 12 months to February 2015, production volumes increased by 10.6% y/y to 12.57 million t and domestic dispatches were up 10.6% y/y to 12.14 million t. Of the 21 regions analysed by DANE, increases were recorded in 19.
