U-Cart Concrete changes hands

World Cement,

The brand that started the ‘self-delivery’ concrete business in the 1960’s has just changed hands. U-Cart Concrete has been purchased by Cart-Away Concrete Systems Inc. of McMinnville, Oregon. This purchase adds the U-Cart line of tub trailers and auger mixers to the mixing trailers and material loading systems manufactured by Cart-Away. “We are excited to have U-Cart join the Cart-Away family. Most of the Cart-Away management team started their career at U-Cart, over 15-years ago”, said Bruce Christensen, President of Cart-Away. “We already know most of the U-Cart customers and we look forward to expanding upon the U-Cart legacy”.

Both U-Cart and Cart-Away support the ‘U-cart-it’ concrete service that is popular in rental location and building material yards all across the country. With the newly combined support, customers can get their parts, service and equipment from one source.

The U-cart business model allows individuals to get ready-mixed concrete from the U-cart operator’s location and take the wet concrete to their job site in a unique delivery trailer. U-cart/Cart-Away operators enjoy an expanded customer base, added retail revenues and more rental income from the system.

The U-cart purchase marks the second purchase in this niche for Bruce and Sarah Christensen. They purchased Cart-Away Concrete Systems at the beginning of 2016 from the Vail Family. Bruce was the sales manager at U-cart prior to spending the last 15-years managing Cart-Away.
