NSSGA urges members to register to vote

According to research, employees in the US consistently list their employer as the most credible source of information about political issues and elections affecting their job, company and industry. Four years ago, nearly one quarter of eligibly US voters were not registered to vote, and the NSSGA is aiming to change this for the November elections by asking all member companies to ensure that their employees are registered to vote.

By partnering with BIPAC, an organisation dedicated to helping private sector employers and employees engage in the political process, the NSSGA hopes to make the aggregates industry’s voice heard in local, state and federal elections. Once registered, employees can support pro-aggregates candidates.

Broad participation from the aggregates industry in the electoral process is integral to future success and key to enacting a long-term sustainable funding solution for the Highway Trust Fund before the expiry of the FAST Act in 2020.
