An estimated 360 million metric t of crushed stone was produced and shipped for consumption in the United States in the second quarter of 2015, an increase of 5% compared with that of the second quarter of 2014. The estimated production for consumption in the first 6 months of 2015 was 589 million t, an increase of 6% compared with that of the same period of 2014.

The estimated US output of construction sand and gravel produced and shipped for consumption in the second quarter of 2015 was 247 million t, a very slight increase compared with that of the second quarter of 2014. The estimated production for consumption in the first 6 months of 2015 was 405 million t, an increase of 4% compared with that of the same period of 2014.

An estimated 607 million t of total construction aggregates was produced and shipped for consumption in the United States in the second quarter of 2015, an increase of 3% compared with that of the second quarter of 2014. The estimated production for consumption in the first 6 months of 2015 was 994 million t, an increase of 5% compared with that of the same period of 2014.

Portland (including blended) cement consumption increased by 2.3% in the second quarter of 2015 compared with that of the second quarter of 2014. Consumption in the first 6 months of 2015 increased by 3.6% compared with that of the same period of 2014. This information is obtained from the USGS monthly survey of US cement producers.

Molins announce first quarter results
