Latin American cement dispatches – April 2014

World Cement,


Peru

In April 2014, Peruvian cement producers affiliated with ASOCEM dispatched 825 691 t of cement on the domestic market. Approximately 20 700 t of cement was exported.

Ecuador

According to the Ecuadorian Institute of Cement and Concrete, around 524 900 t of cement was sold in April of this year. This compares to 545 440 t in April 2013. However, it does represent a month-on-month increase as just 497 600 t of cement was sold in March 2014.

Venezuela

Venzuela’s Cemento Andino dispatched more than 1.138 million bags of cement in the states of Trujillo, Portuguesa, Barinas, Mérida, Lara and South Zulia in April. The number of bags equates to some 48 379 t of cement.
