Drivers concerned about poor quality roads

A new survey from AAA indicates that 70% of drivers are concerned about the poor quality of roads in the US, with far more drivers indicating that they were more worried about potholes on Memorial Day than congestion or unsafe roads and bridges.

The survey also confirms that poor highway conditions are expensive for drivers, who spend over US$300 more a year in car repairs from road damage.

“An estimated $170 billion per year in additional funding is still needed to significantly improve America’s crumbling roads and bridges,” said AAA’s Jill Ingrassia, managing director of government relations and traffic safety advocacy.
