Lafarge Brazil partners with Sebrae/RJ for construction skills project
Lafarge Brazil has partnered with Sebrae/RJ to help those working in the construction sector in Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro, to improve their skills. Theoretical and practical classes will be offered to those in the building industry, increasing the technical and managerial skills of masons and builders. The programme will also cover topics such as pricing, finance and budgets, sales and procurement, and administration.
The scheme has been launched with a pilot project comprising 25 professionals in Rocinha, and there is scope to extend this to other communities in the future.
The Brazilian Portland Cement Association, ABCP, and InovaUrbis have both expressed their support for the project, which aims to increase technical quality and professional standards within the construction sector, whilst also helping those involved to improve their household incomes.
