Italcementi buys Holcim slag grinding plant in USA

Italcementi’s North American subsidiary, Essroc, has signed an agreement with Holcim, to be finalised when the LafargeHolcim merger is complete. Under the terms of the acquisition, Essroc will purchase the slag cement grinding facility in Camden, New Jersey. A cement terminal in Everett, Massachusetts, is also included in the deal. Italcementi has confirmed that staff from Camden and Everett will join Essroc.
Last week, it was announced that Summit Materials is to acquire assets from Lafarge as part of divestments required by competition authorities.
