Votorantim cement plant soon to be inaugurated in Brazil
According to local reports, Brazil’s Votorantim Cimentos is set to inaugurate a 1.2 million tpa cement plant in Mato Grosso in mid-February. The plant, which is currently in the pre-production phase, is the cement manufacturer’s second site in the state. The project represents an investment of R$400 million and has created 600 direct and indirect jobs.
The construction sector in the region is currently experiencing growth, driven by residential projects as well as by the upcoming 2014 World Cup. The new plant will almost double cement production in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, helping to ensure that supply meets demand in the area.
