Carbon Limit, a climate tech company transforming the concrete industry with its proprietary CO2-capturing technology, has announced the appointment of Gabriel Carrero as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
In this role, Carrero is tasked with scaling the commercialisation and strategic development of this first-of-its-kind business’ sustainable built environment solutions.
“Gabriel’s commercial instincts are unmatched, and his track record speaks for itself”, said Tim Sperry, Carbon Limit’s Founder and CEO. “He has consistently demonstrated the ability to drive growth and meet customer needs with cutting-edge solutions throughout his career. We’re very much looking forward to scaling and commercialising our climate solutions under Gabriel’s guiding hand.”
As a highly accomplished senior executive, Carrero holds over two decades of experience and leadership in the specialty construction materials and technology sectors. Prior to joining Carbon Limit, Carrero served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for CarbonCure Technologies, a sustainable concrete company. Carrero was instrumental in steering CarbonCure’s global market expansion. Prior to his tenure at CarbonCure, Carrero led the commercial organisations for Sysdyne Technologies as CCO, and served as CCO & Head of Global Business at NITROcrete.
Carrero also held significant leadership roles during his almost 19-year career with W.R. Grace/GCP Applied Technologies, a global market leader in specialty engineered construction materials. Through these roles, Carrero showcased extensive topline revenue performance and market share growth with an initial focus on North and Latin America regions, yielding major success that drove his scope of work to the global level.
“I’m eager to join Carbon Limit in their mission to decarbonise the built environment”, said Carrero. “Tim and the rest of the talented team have a critical vision to bring global impact through easily adaptable approaches. This is important work and I’m excited to offer my expertise within the construction materials and tech industries to the fight.”
Carrero’s career has been marked by transformative leadership and strategic innovation. His extensive experience driving business development and commercial leadership on specialty construction materials, groundbreaking technologies and carbon credit sales will prove valuable in further solidifying Carbon Limit as a decarbonisation trailblazer.
Carrero’s appointment comes following the recent additions of Jeremy Healey as President and Joel Richardson as Chief Financial Officer. Carbon Limit was also recently selected as a recipient of the US Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration’s $19.5 million grant to advance sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions and green jobs.
