Cemex empowers suppliers to drive sustainability

World Cement,

Cemex has launched a new online Sustainable Development learning programme for small and medium-sized businesses in its global supply chain. This course raises awareness and provides best practices, helping companies develop their own sustainability roadmaps.

Since its pilot launch in 2023, Cemex's Sustainable Development programme has engaged over 200 suppliers, providing them with the knowledge and tools to align with the UN Global Compact's Ten Principles. Through this initiative, participants have identified gaps and developed unique action plans to address them. Since then, this initiative has become a fully online, open-enrollment, and self-paced learning program accessible through Cemex University.

This new learning program reflects Cemex's commitment to co-lead the UN Global Compact's Sustainable Supplier Impact Program in 2023 and advancing its just transition strategy, ensuring no one is left behind. The programme is now open for enrollment to all Cemex suppliers.

Cemex has been a signatory to the UN Global Compact since 2004. It supports collaborative efforts to accelerate sustainability progress: CFO Coalition for SDGs, Just Transition Think Lab, Transformational governance, UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights, Women's Empowerment Principles, and Target Gender Equality.
