Peruvian cement association releases statistics for October 2014
Companies integrated with Peru’s cement association, ASOCEM, dispatched around 928 000 t of cement on the national market in October 2014. Approximately 30 000 t of cement and 98 000 t of clinker was exported during the month.
In January – October 2014, dispatches were 0.25% higher than in the corresponding period in 2013.
According to the country’s National Institute of Statistics and Information (INEI), the construction sector grew by 6.93% in September 2014. Figures released by INEI suggest a 6.11% increase in domestic cement consumption in September, with the production of cement, lime and gypsum rising by 3.9%.
