Safety milestone for Buzzi Unicem USA cement plant
Buzzi Unicem’s Chattanooga cement plant, USA, has achieved one year without a lost time injury (LTI). In recognition of the safety milestone, a bbq lunch was held for the plant’s employees and shirts were given out to celebrate the record. Prizes were awarded to four of the site’s long-term employees, Jerry Sharp, Fred Whisnant, Randall McDonough and Jesse Vaughn, each of whom had worked for more than 40 years at the plant without experiencing injury.
David Nepereny, President and CEO, congratulated the plant on its safety achievement, stressing that “workplace safety is the number one priority for Buzzi Unicem USA”.
