New line will triple Cemento Andino’s production capacity

World Cement,

At a recent government inspection of Cemento Andino’s Trujillo plant, Venezuela, Manuel Fernández confirmed details of the site’s expansion plans. At present the plant produces around 600 000 t of cement, enough to build 70 000 homes. The construction of a new production line is expected to triple Cemento Andino’s capacity.

The project will take around two years to complete, generating around 500 direct and 1000 indirect jobs. The expansion work represents an investment of approximately US$240 million. A Chinese company has been selected to execute the project.
