Graymont announces dissolution of its Materials Group in Quebec

World Cement,

Following a strategic review, Graymont has announced the decision to dissolve its Materials Group in Quebec.

The decision involves the divestiture of certain assets in the Portneuf region, a restructuring of Graymont operations at the Joliette plant and a reduction of the number of employees at those sites.

Graymont will proceed with the sale of the Béton St-Marc ready-mix plant, Redi-Rock division and St-Raymond sand pit and Neuville Quarry.

As a result of the dissolution of its Materials Group in Quebec, Graymont will be reducing the number of employees by approximately 15 at the Saint-Marc-des-Carrières operation and 35 at the Joliette plant.

Graymont engineering and customer service employees located in Joliette will not be impacted by these measures.
