Cemex Latam to help construct sustainable housing in Latin America

World Cement,

Cemex Latam Holdings, S.A. (CLH) will help to construct an estimated 12 000 sustainable housing units in Latin America in 2014. This forms part of the company’s plans to continue to strengthen its solutions-based commercial offer. CLH’s construction systems and specialty concrete products enhance energy efficiency, resulting in lower energy costs for the families living in the houses. The specialty concrete products also utilise less water in the construction process, thereby allowing CLH to minimise its environmental impact.

CLH will continue to carry out its social initiatives in the region, such as ‘Patrimonio Hoy’ and ‘Bloqueras Solidarias’, which focus on sustainable self-construction.

“We are committed with the development of our region and are convinced that by promoting the construction of sustainable housing we are fostering well-being and creating value for all of our stakeholders,” commented CLH CEO Carlos Jacks.
