Melco Conveyor Equipment wins inaugural Anglo American Supplier Award
Anglo American has presented Melco Conveyor Equipment (Pty) Limited with the inaugural Supplier Award for Sustainability. At a recent ceremony held in London, members of the Executive Committee presented the award to Melco’s Executive Chairman, Carsten Spanggaard, in recognition of the company’s achievements as a supplier to Anglo American. Melco was one of four companies shortlisted globally from all of Anglo American’s suppliers.
“We are delighted to have received this award,” said Spanggaard. “Sustainability is central to our customer focused approach and we are deeply honoured to have our efforts validated at such a prestigious event.”
Andrew Hinkly, Anglo American’s Group Head of Supply Chain, said “Through our Supplier Award, we have been able to communicate, engage and share with suppliers what it takes to meet our ambition to become the investment, the partner and the employer of choice.

Cynthia Carroll, Anglo’s C.E.O., endorsed this, saying “If you can assure us of your commitment to those values, then we really can work together”.

Melco equipment is operating in over 75 countries around the world. Founded in 1970, the company operates from premises in Germiston, Gauteng, and is now part of the Rulmeca Group.
