Summit Materials acquires ready-mix concrete and aggregates operations in Texas and Kansas
US-based Summit Materials has announced the acquisition of ready-mix concrete and aggregate operations in Texas and Kansas. This includes Concrete Supply of Topeka/Builders Choice Concrete in Topeka, Kansas; Southwest Ready-Mix in Houston, Texas; Colorado County Sand & Gravel in Colorado County, Texas.
Concrete Supply of Topeka/Builders Choice Concrete comprises ten ready-mix concrete plants and two sand and gravel sites in Topeka and northeast Kansas, as well as a ready-mix concrete plant in western Missouri.
The two Texas-based acquisitions follow the purchase of Alleyton Resource in January 2014. Colorado County Sand & Gravel will complement Alleyton Resource’s aggregates operations in west Houston, while Southwest Ready-Mix will be integrated into Alleyton Resource’s ready-mix concrete business, Allied Concrete.
“We are very pleased to welcome these three companies and their employees to Summit Materials. They are a great cultural, geographic and business match with us and a furtherance of our strategy of growth through acquisitions,” said Tom Hill, CEO of Summit Materials.
