More than 5.6 million t of cement was sold on the Brazilian market in February
Preliminary results published by the SNIC indicate that domestic cement sales in Brazil reached 5.626 million t in February 2014. This compares with 5.075 t in February 2013. In the first two months of 2014, sales of cement on the national market reached 11.537 million t, up 8.7% y/y from the 10.614 million t sold in January – February 2013.
In May 2014, the CBC Brazilian Cement Conference (Congresso Brasileiro de Cimento) organised by the Brazilian Portland Cement Association (Associação Brasileira de Cimento Portland) will return after a 15-year hiatus. The event will take place in São Paulo, bringing together some 350 cement industry professionals. Topics include cement manufacturing process innovations, environment, emissions, quality and standardisation. More details about 6th CBC 2014 can be found here.
