PCA and NSSGA appoint new management

Portland Cement Association (PCA) has appointed Michael Schon as vice president and counsel for government affairs.

Schon will have responsibility for guiding the association’s regulatory advocacy efforts and for promoting the cement industry in general.

“The cement and concrete manufacturers face a variety of regulatory issues that will determine the future of industry,” said A. Todd Johnston, vice president of government affairs at PCA. “We are delighted to have someone with Michael’s experience join our staff at this crucial time.”

Another change in management within the industry occurred at the NSSGA. Patrick Dunne joined the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) as Director of Communications, and will lead the day-to-day communications efforts.

“Our industry must have a strategic communications plan that educates policymakers and the public about the aggregates industry – an industry that creates jobs and builds an infrastructure for economic growth in America,” said Michael W. Johnson, NSSGA president and CEO. “Patrick is a welcome addition to our team and complements our ongoing strategic communications efforts as we continue to implement our Rocks Build America strategic plan.”
