Two Ash Grove cement plants recognised by the Wildlife Habitat Council

World Cement,

Two of Ash Grove Cement Company’s plants have been certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council.

The Midlothian cement plant in Texas received the Corporate Lands for Learning certification. The facility’s wildlife habitat provides interactive educational programmes for young people, the community and nature enthusiasts, as well as field trainings for wildlife professionals on the subject of fossils, geodes and botany.

The Foreman cement plant in Arkansas was recertified in the Wildlife at Work category. This was in recognition of employees’ efforts to maintain and enhance the plant’s 2000 acre habitat, which comprises hardwood forests, open fields, wetlands, lakes, ponds and transitional areas, in addition to the variety of environmental education programmes offered.

“We are honored to receive these certifications which recognise our commitment to environmental stewardship,” said Senior Vice President – Manufacturing, Mike Hrizuk. “We are proud of our plants’ investment of time and resources in conservation and congratulate them on their outstanding achievements.”
