Blue World Crete presents new green cement

World Cement,

Scientists at Blue World Crete Inc. have developed a new cement that is a hybrid of geo-polymer and nano-ceramic cement. Geo-Blue Crete is a complete low carbon alternative that looks, acts and works like Portland cement. It can be distributed in the same way, with the same equipment, at a low manufacturing cost.

This new age cement is a one-part system that only requires a simple paddle mixing of its powdered chemical formula at ambient temperatures. The manufacturing process is not dependent on fossil fuels or large kilns. However, its delivery system remains the same as OPC and the product itself results in a high performance concrete at 6000 psi and over. It is water retardant, acid retardant, discourages the oxidation of rebar, and has a near zero coefficient of expansion, which makes it excellent in below freezing temperatures as well as in tropical regions. It does not transfer heat very well, which makes for great insulating properties – and, most importantly, it is made of post-industrial waste.

Geo-Blue Crete II uses less water in its concrete mix and will reach three times the compression and tensile strengths of Portland. ASTM, third party testing, has yielded impressive results. The product is not dependent on a recipe of manufactured chemical mix products, it is totally independent and reliant only on a generic chemical formulation.

Blue World Crete Inc. is negotiating with several manufacturers and distributors worldwide, namely the US, Colombia, Brazil, Australia, Nigeria and more. The company’s business plan calls for exclusive licensing of its technology for manufacturers in different areas of the world.

The product can be manufactured in portable plants, which cost about 5% of the capital outlay for an equivalent OPC manufacturing plant.

Additional products

Blue World Crete Inc. has also developed Geo-Blue Crete III and Geo-Blue Coatings. Geo-Blue Crete III concrete has the capacity to reach extremely high compression and tensile strengths. It will reach early high compression strengths and within 28 days it can climb over 10 000 psi. It is a monolithic substance and forms strong covalent bonds that encapsulate aggregate materials on a molecular level.

The company has also introduced a new methodology in which its Geo-Blue Crete products can be transformed into a fluid spray or pumped material, known as Geo-Blue Coatings. Among numerous other applications, these products can be utilised in road construction and repair. The methodology can easily take advantage of indigenous materials excavated from the road site itself, which become part of the final mix. This resulting site mixture results in a superior and inexpensive product methodology for the construction of top grade roads. The products also reflect heat, have a low coefficient of expansion, and are fire retardant and highly resistant to acid, water and salt.

Geo-Blue Coatings can be sprayed on rebar and other metal structures, and retards the oxidation of metal. It can also be sprayed and painted on almost any surface as a heat protective geopolymer coating.

To highlight the strong protective quality of Geo-Blue Coatings, two samples of rebar were placed in a plastic bottle filled with salt water. One rebar was painted with Geo-Blue Coatings and the other was not. After three months, the water remained clear and free from dust in the bottle with the rebar painted with Geo-Blue Coatings, while the other bottle was clouded with rust and corrosion from the unprotected rebar.

Blue World Crete Inc. is currently in discussions to use its coatings at an existing hydro-electric plant on the West Coast of the USA. The product will be used to coat stacks, turbine parts, heat exchange piping, etc. It will resist high temperatures, sulfates, solvents, acidic chemicals, as well as other harsh chemicals and inclement weather conditions. The product does not require primers because it forms covalent bonds at the molecular level.

Blue World Crete, Inc. is currently negotiating to license its various technologies to manufacturers and distributors worldwide. The company licenses the technology and supplies a proprietary catalyst/binding agent that makes the whole process work. The binding agent is less than 10% of the entire mix.
