Cemex announced it has been selected as the primary concrete supplier for the construction of Line 1 of the Bogotá Metro, following a bidding process. This major construction project requires 870,000 cubic meters of high-strength concrete, representing Cemex's largest delivery in Colombia for a single project.
Led by Metro Línea 1 S.A.S., Cemex's high-strength concrete is being used to construct high-strength prestressed piles, U-beam systems, columns, capitals, and eight stations of Line 1 of the Bogotá Metro. This ambitious project aims to enhance the daily commute of over a million residents in Colombia's largest city by providing more efficient and sustainable transportation options.
