Argentina: cement dispatches up in September 2014
Portland cement producers in Argentina dispatched approximately 1.054 million t of cement in September 2014 (including exports). This is around 5% higher than in August. When compared to September 2013, the figure also represents an increase, rising by 0.3% y/y.
AFCP’s members sold 1.045 million t of cement on the domestic market in September, inclusive of imports. This is some 5.3% more than in August 2014 and 0.3% higher than in September 2013.
Local press reports indicate that construction activity improved in August 2014, rising by 0.7% y/y and 1.3% m/m.
