Invencem’s Cumarebo cement plant granted clay and limestone permit
The Governor of the State of Falcón in Venezuela, Stella Lugo, has granted Industria Venezolana de Cemento (Invencem) a concession permit for non-metallic minerals in Zamora. The permit will allow the cement producer to quarry clay and limestone for a period of 20 years. The materials will be used at the Cumarebo cement plant. According to José Camejo, Director of the Invencem Cumarebo plant, the concession will help the cement facility with the first phase of its expansion plan. Phase I will enable the plant to increase its capacity by 23% in a bid to meet demand from domestic construction activity. Phase II, which will be completed in 2017, will see production rise by 40%.
