Total shipments of portland and blended cement in the UnitedStates and Puerto Rico in December 2015 were about 6.6million t, an increase of 5.6% from December 2014. Shipments for the year through December totaled 91.5 million t, up by 3.5% from the FY14. The leading producing States for portland andblended cement in December were Texas, California, Missouri,Florida, and Alabama, in descending order. Theleading cement-consuming States (Texas, California, Florida,New York, and Illinois, in descending order) received about42% of the December shipments.

Clinker production totaled 6.9 million t in December 2015, an increase of6.1% from the output in December 2014. Production for the year through December was 76.5 million t, up by 2.0% fromFY14. The leading clinker-producing States in December were, in descending order, Texas, Missouri, California, Florida, and Alabama.

Masonry cement shipments of about 193 000 t in December 2015 were up by 11.5% from those of December 2014. Shipments for the year through December were 2.4 million t, up by 2.1% compared with total sales in 2014. The leading masonry cement-consuming States were, in descending order, Florida, Texas, California, Georgia, and North Carolina; these received about 52% of December’s shipments.
