Argos, a cement company within the Argos Group, is to begin shipping 52 000 m3 of concrete to the next Coca-Cola plant, located in Houston, Texas. The new plant will be the first Coca-Cola production plant to be built in the US in the last decade.
The concrete, enough to fill 8600 mixer trucks, will first be shipped to Argos’ client, TAS Commercial Concrete. The facility has required more than $250 million in investments and covers close to 100 000 m2. Technology in the plant will include five production lines, a distribution centre, and a sales area, enabling Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to serve the Southwestern Texas market as efficiently as possible.
Coca-Cola first opened a plant in Houston in 1902 and Coco-Cola Southwest Beverages is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Coca-Cola Co., which is based in Atlanta.
