Continued growth for Colombia’s cement sector in November 2014
Domestic cement dispatches increased by 6.3% y/y to 1.04 million t in Colombia in November 2014. Production volumes totalled 1.069 million t during the month.
In January – November 2014, grey cement production reached approximately 11.25 million t, up 10% y/y. Dispatches on the national market were also higher in 2014 than in the corresponding period in 2013. Around 10.97 million t was dispatched in the first 11 months of the year, an increase of 10.3%.
According to DANE, some 12.27 million t of grey cement was produced in the 12 months to November, representing growth of 9.7% y/y. During this period, domestic dispatches were up 10.2% y/y to 11.89 million t.
