Atlas Copco named in UN Global Compact 100 Stock Index
The Atlas Copco Group (Atlas Copco AB) has announced that it has been included in the United Nations Global Compact 100 Stock Index.
The UN Global Compact is a policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles regarding human rights, the environment and anti-corruption. Atlas Copco has based its Business Code of Practice on these ten principles, becoming a member of the Compact in 2008. The Global Compact 100 companies are selected according to their adherence to these principles and based on evidence of executive leadership commitment and consistent baseline profitability.
“We are excited to be included again in the UN Global Compact 100 for our commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices,” said Jim Levitt, President of Atlas Copco North America LLC. “Not only does it make good business sense to align our operations with sustainable practices, but it also positively impacts the environment, our customers and the industry.”
Atlas Copco has also been included in the FTS4Good Stock Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, as well as being ranked seventh in the global Newsweek Green Rankings and being named in the Top 100 Global Sustainable Companies at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
