NSSGA releases AGG1 webinar

The NSSGA has released its most recent AGG1 Online webinar, which is now available on-demand for NSSGA members unable to attend the live broadcast. The webinar is aimed at operators looking for insights on the proper management of workplace exams.

Arthur Wolfson, an attorney with Jackson Kelly, analysed the guidance on workplace exams issued by MSHA is July 2015, and offered ideas for effectively managing workplace exams for both safety and compliance with MSHA standards, He explained why operators that choose to document hazards found on workplace exams, a function not mandated by the current standard, should also carefully document actions taken to abate those hazards. He also explained what is meant by the term ‘competent person’ and what is needed for these persons to perform the exams, and how compliance with the standard affects approached to Part 46 training mandates. This is a complicated area, and Wolfson shared the relative advantages and disadvantages of different approaches the operators could take.
