World Cement,

FLSmidth has signed a contract worth approximately US$35 million (approximately DKK 200 million) with Cementos del Plata SA for the supply of equipment and technology to its lime manufacturing facility located approximately 20 km northwest of Treinta y Tres, Uruguay.

FLSmidth is to supply a complete 500 tpd lime manufacturing plant, making it the largest capacity lime plant in Uruguay. The scope of supply includes equipment from primary crushing to packing and loadout, as well as material handling equipment and control systems.

Cementos del Plata SA is a partnership between Administración Nacional de Combustibles, Alcohol y Pórtland de la R.O.del Uruguay (ANCAP, 95%) and the Argentinian company Loma Negra CIASA (5%), which markets and distributes cement, clinker and other products made by the Portland Cement Division of ANCAP.

Group CEO, Jørgen Huno Rasmussen said of the deal: “FLSmidth has a long history with the ANCAP group dating back to 1956 and we are currently executing an upgrade project for the company's Paysandú cement plant. This order to supply Uruguay's largest capacity lime plant, confirms our close relationship with the group and proves the successful merging of our cement and minerals operations.”

The order will contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until commissioning in 2013.
