CAN$38 million facility at Exshaw plant will replace up to 50% of natural gas with low-carbon fuels, primarily wood-based construction demolition waste

Lafarge Canada and Geocycle Canada, members of Holcim Group, and the Department of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Office of Energy Research and Development (OERD), today announced the opening of Geocycle's first low-carbon fuel plant in Canada – a more than $10-million facility located at the Lafarge Canada Brookfield Cement Plant (NS).

Holcim has acquired 100% of the shares and operations of the companies Comacsa S.A and Mixercon S.A for a total value of US$100 million for both companies.
