World Cement,
ABB has launched a new version of cpmPlus Expert Optimizer (EO), its software application for deployment of advanced process control applications to optimise system productivity and harmonise processes in the cement industries.
The updated version supports the existing features included in the current Expert Optimizer, but comes with a new user-friendly interface and is based on ABB technology without using any third-party software licenses.
cpmPlus Expert Optimizer helps customers operate cement plants more stably and efficiently by coordinating actions on the process such as rotational speed, fuels or chemical additives. It maximises overall plant efficiency by looking at the interactions between variables and enabling an accurate decision-making process according to the plant goals. It collects real-time data, processes it with mathematical algorithms, and coordinates the plant actuators for optimal performance.
New Expert Optimizer 8.0 features are:
- Functional user interface for higher operation effectiveness,
- Enhanced alarm and event capabilities,
- Improved Model Predictive Control capabilities,
- Object-oriented engineering environment.
EO 8.0 modules cover the most critical components and equipment: kiln, alternative fuel, mills and blending. The application enables plant operators to optimise the plant process easily at the push of a button.
cpmPlus Expert Optimizer is part of the Collaborative Production Management (CPM) suite. ABB’s CPM software solutions integrate all manufacturing systems, providing real-time visibility, execution, tracking, reporting, and optimising of manufacturing processes. They allow customers to move towards optimum plant performance by improving and optimising plant operations, process efficiency and product quality.
