Radar steps into a new dimension

World Cement,

The new Micropilot FMR10 and FMR20 from Endress+Hauser offer perfect application fit devices for level measurement in simple liquid applications. In addition the radar is a great choice when installation space is at a premium. The sensor’s smallest in class footprint means easy mounting on tanks for water in concrete, boiler feed water preparation or grinding additive chemical tanks in the cement mills. The Endress+Hauser innovation lies in real time savings due to setup and diagnostics via an app using Bluetooth® wireless technology.

Micropilot FMR10 and FMR20 belong to the first non-contact radars with a Bluetooth® commissioning, operation and maintenance app. Signal diagnostics and analysis curves can be viewed via the app on most Bluetooth® enabled smartphone or tablet (iOS and Android). This increases plant availability due to fast access to maintenance information, and guarantees cost savings because of the usage of existing non-proprietary tool infrastructure. Furthermore FMR10 and FMR20 are the most compact radars in their class thanks to unique radar chip design with integrated radio frequency components and direct emission transceiver – all invented by Endress+Hauser. With the compact design the device fits perfectly in to those limited spaces, which means an extended application scope for radar technology.

Micropilot FMR10 and FMR20 provide the best price-performance ratio. For the first time radar technology is available in the price range of typical ultrasonic level devices. Especially for utilities, the devices fit the applications perfectly: Easy setup with just three main parameters and a remote indicator solution resulting in time savings and enhanced safety.

The sensor is made of water and dust tight PVDF thermoplastic which resists outdoor conditions and guarantees a long sensor lifetime. Sealed wiring and fully potted electronics eliminate water ingress and allow operation under harsh environmental conditions, which means enhanced availability. Also in hazardous areas or places difficult to reach, safe and secure wireless remote access via Bluetooth offers a lot of advantages. There is no additional tool and adapter or wiring effort required. It is as simple as this: Connect – set – ready!

The communication is absolute secure due to encrypted data transmission and password protected communication so that unauthorized access or manipulation is not possible.

Micropilot FMR10 and FMR20 are the beginning of a new generation of radar devices. Endress+Hauser as full service supplier offers the broadest range of technologies to find the best fit for every application in the water or boiler house, in the quarry, raw meal preparation, clinker or the cement mill – be it electromechanical, ultrasonic, hydrostatic, microwave or now “Bluetooth® enabled” radar.
