Adare Machinery, a Bobcat and Doosan dealer based in Limerick, has shown several of the company’s products for the first time at the Construction and Quarry Machinery Show (CQMS).

Sales of construction plant machinery in Ireland are said to be recovering strongly since the recession, growing back to 2500 items of new machinery sold last year, compared to just 300 units sold during 2010 when the construction crash was at its worst.

From the Bobcat range of compact loaders, mini-excavators, telehandlers, and attachments, the R-Series E27 mini-excavator and T40.180SLP 18 m telehandler were shown for the first time at CQMS. The Adare Machinery stand also featured the first presentation in Ireland of the Doosan DL580-5 wheel loader, alongside a 14 t DX140LCR-5 reduced trail swing crawler excavator from Doosan.

“We were at the first two editions of CQMS in 2015 and 2017,” said William Cuddy, Sales Manager at Adare Machinery. “The Irish market is growing strongly and CQMS is well-timed to take advantage of this and we hope to arrange business at the show.”

First Time at CQMS For Bobcat R-Series

The 2.7 t E27 is part of Bobcat’s R(Revolutionary)-Series mini-excavators from 2-4 t, comprising four more models – the E26, E27z, E34, and E35z – all five machines offering a mix of high digging forces, stability, and smooth controllability of working functions, as well as low weights for easy transportation. The E27 mini-excavator with a cab and bucket has an operating weight of 2675 kg, a maximum digging depth of 2847 mm, and a maximum reach at ground level of 4604 mm.

Like all R-Series machines, the large operator space and premium interior in the E27 cab delivers comfort with an improved entry/exit thanks to ergonomic 3D handles and a wider door. The cab also features larger windows and narrower pillars, giving all-around visibility.

The conventional swing E27 model introduces an in-class unique combination of stability, digging performance, and breakout forces, together with a transport weight that is still below the weight limits for appropriate trailers. Even with the optional heavy counterweight, the E27 has just 280 mm of tail overhang, which allows the machine to be operated in confined spaces. This makes the machine an useful tool for highly demanding applications, where performance and transportability have a priority over compactness.

Expanded Range of Bobcat Telehandlers

The T40.180SLP is the top-of-the-range model in the newly expanded Bobcat range of 13 rigid frame telehandlers for the construction/rental markets, covering maximum lifting capacities between 2.6 and 4.3 t, and with lifting heights from 6 to 18 m. All Bobcat telehandlers are backed by a three year/3000 hour warranty as standard, with the option of extending the warranty to five years/5000 hours.

Bobcat telehandlers incorporate several standard features, such as an automatic parking brake with an intuitive operation similar to those used in the automotive industry, providing greater safety and control. The ECO fuel saving system is actuated simply by pressing a button on the dashboard and maintains optimum hydraulic performance without using the engine’s full power, adjusting the main machine features to produce a balance between top performance and providing the best performance/fuel consumption ratio. Construction companies and rental customers will appreciate this feature for the additional fuel savings it provides, combined with the excellent lifting capacities on Bobcat telehandlers.

First Time in Ireland

At CQMS’19, Adare Machinery showed the new Doosan DL580-5 wheel loader for the first time in Ireland. With a bucket capacity of 6.4 m3, the DL580-5 has a similar look to the existing DL550-5 model, but features robust structural components and an advanced and sophisticated double circuit axle oil cooler system to provide a solution for applications such as block lifting and other heavier material handling needs in industrial, construction, recycling, mining, and quarrying applications.

To meet these requirements, the DL580-5 has an operating weight of 36030 kg and higher static tipping loads (straight/full turn 40°) of 29700 and 26200 kg, respectively. The overall size of the DL580-5 is almost the same as the DL550-5, but the new model is equipped with a series of features that make the machine reliable and durable.

For example, the front structure is more rugged, with greater rigidity and strength. The DL580-5 has reinforced Z-bar kinematics for heavier lifting with few moving parts. This design also helps stabilise the loader, enables rapid bucket movements, and keeps the bucket at the right angle position at all times. As with all Doosan DL-5 models, the DL580-5 is also available with a High-lift configuration, with a longer arm enabling higher dumping of materials.

Adare Machinery is an award-winning machinery dealership established by David and Marian Cuddy in 1984. Together with an excellent team of staff, the Cuddys continue to innovate, expand and grow the business. Adare Machinery has exclusivity for sales and service in Munster and Connacht for Doosan crawler and wheeled excavators from 1 to 53 t, and for the Doosan range of wheel loader models with bucket capacities from 1.9 to 6.4 m3. For the Bobcat range, Adare Machinery is the Authorised Dealer for the whole of Ireland.
